Maggie E. Francisco, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Margaret (Maggie) Francisco was raised in Castro Valley—it was her years as a patient at Castro Valley Optometry Group that inspired her to pursue a career in optometry. She is certified in full-scope optometric care with special interest in pediatric vision and myopia management.
After receiving a bachelor's degree in biochemistry at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, Dr. Francisco earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. She completed clinical rotations with emphasis on ocular disease, primary care & contact lens, pediatric eye care, and vision therapy. Her passion for pediatric vision led her to complete a residency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the Optometry Center for Vision Therapy in Austin, TX. In residency, she worked with children with developmental & intellectual disabilities as well as adults with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurological conditions. In October 2019, she was granted Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry for her additional research and study in the areas of binocular vision and vision rehabilitation.
Dr. Francisco is excited to be serving a community that is so close to her heart. Outside the office, she enjoys seeing musicals and visiting museums & zoos with her husband and daughter. She is a classically trained singer and is currently singing with the CV High Alumni Chorale.
